In this project, which we realized to bring back to life a wooden house on the shores of the Bosphorus in Sarıyer that bears the traces of the past century, we redesigned a historical heritage to meet contemporary needs. The constructions of the building were extensively damaged and affected by fire. Therefore, we had to dismantle and rebuild the house. It was both a challenging and exciting process to register the house in its original form from various sources and restore it to the eye-catching appearance it had when it was built.
Although the legal and historical responsibilities of restoring a historical monument were challenging at times, once the building was built and standing before us in all its splendor, we realized the value of all the difficulties. This project has been a great asset in both preserving the traces of the past and carrying them into the future.
We had the opportunity to work with Monotone Architecture for the restoration of our historical monument property in Sarıyer. They restored the building to its first day splendor by exhibiting meticulous follow-up and competent work at every point of the property, which is a 2nd Degree Historical Monument. Thank you very much.
