Monotone Design
This detached house in Bebek required significant renovations. Although it is not protected as a historical monument, preserving the texture and historical features of the residence was our priority during the renovation process. In addition to structural interventions, this home office, which we designed in accordance with the active and busy lifestyle of the two young businessmen, was transformed into more functional and spacious spaces by organizing the bedrooms on the lower floor. During this arrangement, we increased the livability of the space by activating natural light and garden access.
The upstairs living room with an open kitchen was designed as a space for relaxation, conversations with friends and working during the day. While renovating the old stair railings, we made the areas that were dark due to the structure of the house spacious and inviting with artificial lighting and materials used. However, by leaving some areas a little dark as a design principle, we aimed to create a “man cave” atmosphere in these spaces.
